MORE than $20,000 was raised at the inaugural Nordoff-Robbins Whitewater Rafting Challenge on Friday.
SEI Carbide Australia took out first place, while the Penrith City Council raft placed second.
A number of other Penrith businesses battled it out in the water on the day, organised to raise money for the Kingswood-based facility.
A guitar signed by Neil and Tim Finn, Iva Davies, Jimmy Barnes and Jenny Morris was auctioned for $1800, going to a silent bidder.
Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy fund-raising and events manager Nicci Gow said the money raised would go directly into programs.
``We're quite a small charity,'' she said.
``For us, $20,000 is incredible we can touch a lot of Penrith people with that.''
Ben Watson, a Nordoff-Robbins client, sang a song on the day.
Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, which operates out of the Golden Stave Music Therapy Centre, provides the gift of music to children and adults with special needs, servicing the Penrith Valley.
The event was presented by Wizard Home Loans Penrith.
