Email us what you really think

AS PART of the Star's research into the ABC Learning story, a string of emails was sent to the office of Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Julia Gillard in an attempt to find out further details relating to a media statement released by Ms Gillard on Thursday.

We were concerned that specific reassurances were not forthcoming and it seems our persistent questioning was beginning to annoy Ms Gillard's office.

Emails were sent to and fro between the Star and Ms Gillard's office and, by accident, an email was sent to one of our journalists, Gemma Seymour, from someone in Ms Gillard's office seeking advice on how to deal with our determined questioning, which said: ``You might need to give me some advice about giving an f off vibe over email.''

We were disappointed that our questions relating to the position of local parents was treated with such an attitude. We are sure this was a temporary lapse, but parents in the dark about their children using an ABC Learning service deserve better.
