Five officers injured at Cranebrook party brawl

FIVE Penrith police have been treated for of injuries overnight after allegedly being attacked while attempting to shut down a party at Cranebrook.

Police spoke with occupiers of a home in Bedley Place at about 7pm following complaints about noise from a 16-year-old's birthday party.

Officers returned following further complaints a short time later and were allegedly assaulted.

Five people were arrested and were taken to Penrith and Windsor Police Stations where they were charged.

A 38-year-old man from Cranebrook was charged with assaulting a police officer in execution of duty and causing actual bodily harm, affray, and resisting an officer in execution of duty.

He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on February 15.

A 33-year-old man, from Penrith, was charged with two counts of assault officer in execution of duty, affray, and resisting an officer in execution of duty.

He, too, was refused bail to appear in Parramatta

Bail Court on February 15.

A 15-year-old youth, from Cranebrook, was charged with assaulting a police officer in execution of duty and causing actual bodily harm, assaulting an officer in execution of duty, affray, and resisting an officer in execution of duty. He was refused bail to Parramatta Childrens Court on February 23.

A 16-year-old youth, from Cranebrook, was charged with resisting or hindering a police officer in the execution of duty, and using violence to cause fear. He was granted bail to appear in Parramatta Childrens Court on February 23.

A 17-year-old girl, from Cranebrook, charged with affray, assaulting a police, resisting or hindering police officer in the execution of duty. She was granted conditional bail to Parramatta Childrens Court on February 23.

A male and a female officer were treated in Nepean Hospital for facial injuries, while three male officers also suffered cuts, abrasions, bruising and swelling.
