Girl caught driving stolen car, South Penrith

05 Nov, 2009 09:33 AM
A 15-year-old girl was caught driving a stolen car in South Penrith last night, carrying five other juvenile passengers.

Police were patrolling Samuel Foster Drive at about 8pm and saw a white Holden Commodore travelling south which had been reported stolen.

Police signalled the driver to stop before a pursuit was initiated.

The driver drove through local streets in South Penrith at speeds not exceeding 70 kmh, police say.

The car was then stopped on Fragar Road and all six juvenile occupants were detained by police.

The five other young people were released pending further investigations, police say, and the 15-year-old driver will be issued with a caution under the Young Offenders Act.

Noone was injured during the incident.
