Following acts of cruelty to animals at Cranebrook High School recently, Penrith MP Karyn Paluzzano said it was
high time the school got funding for a proper security fence.
Mrs Paluzzano recently held a campaign to raise awareness of the school's plight, and she's hoping for
money in next week's state budget for the project.
Last month, animals at the school were tortured and killed out of school hours.
Police said unknown people jumped the fencing and broke the necks of two chickens and tried to enter the sheep enclosure.
Animals at Nepean High School were also tortured and killed.
``Along with the school community, I have been lobbying the NSW Government to have a new security fence installed at Cranebrook High School, and have already begun tabling pages of petitions signed by members of the school community in the NSW Parlia
ment,'' Mrs Paluzzano said last week.
``I have spoken to staff, students and parents of Cranebrook High School and I know many people felt sickened when they heard of the most recent incidents
of vandalism and cruelty to animals, and I've told the Premier and Education Minister that we need to do something to stop this from happening again.''
