MEMBERS of the Penrith Valley Chamber of Commerce chatted over dips and chicken sticks at Production Automotive in Batt Street last week, as guests of Brendon and Melinda Leyshon.
Relatively new members of the chamber, the Leyshons said they have met some ``wonderful local business owners'' some of whom, such as Anil Puri of Action Business Coaching, have helped nurture their business.
``Anil raised our business approach to a whole new level of management and marketing,'' Mrs Leyshon said.
Once again the rollcall of mentors recognised at these functions sounded like a Penrith who's who of mutual business support, covering printing and supplies to taxation and financial advice.
But the one big point of difference was displayed on the wall a pink sign with a big tick that looked almost out of place in a work room full of hot rods and motor parts.
It was a Female Friendly accreditation, granted so that women can feel comfortable when using a business for themselves and their families, in turn recommending it to other women.
``We were thrilled to get this as it was quite tough a thorough interview, a close look at our processes plus references from clients,'' Mrs Leyshon said. ``And the best part was that we didn't apply for it we were recommended by one of our clients.''
