Truck parts start

A new truck parts business, Total Truck and Trailer Parts, was opened in Coreen Avenue by Craig Wynne. So far there are two staff but Mr Wynne, who has been in the business for 12 years, plans to build his team, mostly in the sales area. ``We provide parts to truck drivers and will initially focus on the Penrith Valley but may expand beyond that in the future,'' he told the Star. Builder has big plans

Rondo Building Services, a building manufacturer, has moved to the Fitzpatrick Industrial Estate at Erskine Park. The new factory, which will employ 170 people, will allow Rondo to increase its manufacturing capacity by more than 50per cent, enable world distribution and achieve operational efficiencies not possible at its St Marys site. Group general manager John Wintraaken said with the increase in light weight construction in commercial and residential building, the increased capacity would put the company in a good position to improve service to customers. Rondo, a joint venture of CSR and Boral, also operates in New Zealand, Malaysia, India and the Middle East. Details: www.rondo.com.au

Water droppers named

Penrith business O-I Sydney and Penrith Council are finalists in Sydney Water's Every Drop Counts business program awards in the innovation and the sustainable business processes categories. There were 17 businesses on the shortlist for the six award categories. The winners will be announced at the Australian National Maritime Museum next week. The program ``provides support and advice to businesses and government customers to help them improve water efficiency'', Sydney Water managing director Kerry Schott said.
