Regional soccer
Football NSW has announced the inclusion of Hawkesbury City Football Club in the Football NSW U12, U13, U14 and U/15 regional competitions.
The competition allows players to play for their local clubs in the Nepean association competition on a weekly basis and play for their regional teams every other weekend.
Hawkesbury City FC will not be entering teams in the Nepean association competitions, choosing instead to provide additional coaching for players to improve their understanding and capabilities while remaining within the local club environment.
The Hawkesbury club will provide experienced coaching from youth technical director Keith Healey each week in line with the FFA National Curriculum for the selected Regional League players.
Hawkesbury City soccer club will provide the following assistance to the U12s, U13, U14 and U15 players:
Keith Healey, FFA "B" licence youth director, is a Football NSW staff coach with more than 35 years of experience presenting youth and senior licence courses, holiday camps. He has had involvement with NSW state teams and is a former youth director of coaching at Premier League Club Blacktown Spartans.
David Bertenshaw FFA "B" licence, senior technical director, has 30 years of experience coaching NSW State League first grade teams at all levels. He has also been the Nepean director of coaching and has coached representative teams for Blacktown Association.
Tom Haythornthwaite, FFA "C" licence, under-20s coach, is a former NSL player with Canberra Cosmos, Newcastle and Melita. He is a former youth international for Australia.
Ron Pratt, FFA "C" licence, skill instructor, is an Australian schoolboys coach who has coached at Marconi and Northern Spirit for many years. He has extensive experience as a skill instructor for Football NSW.
Berra Simone, FFA senior licence, under-18s coach, has been a multiple premiership winner in Super Youth League.
Dean Bertenshaw, FFA senior licence, first grade coach.
