Students in radio show
Radio 2UE will broadcast their Breakfast Show from McCarthy College this Friday, 5.30am-8.30am, with presenters Ian 'Dicko' Dickson and Sarah Morice.
The students will be involved including an apprentice challenge and mini-debate and the hospitality students will be catering for breakfast.
Contestants Coop and Nick from MasterChef the Professionals will also be there to be interviewed by the DJs and to judge the barbecue breakfast put on by the students.
Also, teachers Craig Laffin and Keith Heggart will begin the McCarthy Radio Show on WOWFM 100.7 this Friday, 6pm-7pm.
The show will be about education, covering IT, homework, bullying and the way students learn and think.
Local a brand ambassador
Penrith businesswoman Sue McAvoy has been named brand ambassador for bookkeeping franchise, First Class Accounts.
A bookkeeper for more than 35 years, Mrs McAvoy services 80 businesses in the region and has enjoyed 40 per cent growth since she came on board with First Class Accounts four years ago.
Join youth choir
Penrith Children's Choir (for ages 7-13), mentored by Penrith City Choir, offers access to musical and choral training, the chance to work with other musical groups and the thrill of live performances.
Its inaugural event is a Singing Day on Sunday, March 10, 2pm-5pm, at Penrith Public School.
There are no auditions - all that is needed is a love of singing.
Cost: $25 per child with discounts for family members. Applications close on Wednesday, March 6.

Free hearing checks
Australian Hearing is bringing its Hearing Bus to St Clair, Penrith and Emu Plains to offer free checks and promote hearing awareness.
Visitors can also find out about common hearing problems and see a display of devices for use around the home such as headsets for the TV and alert systems for doorbells.
David Maple, area manager at Australian Hearing Penrith, said 60 per cent of Australians over 60 suffered from some form of hearing loss.
The checks and take around 15 minutes and an appointment is necessary.
