CATHOLIC Schools across NSW and ACT will participate in Catholic Schools Week's celebration of this year's theme "Every Child Counts".
Around 615 primary and secondary schools state-wide will join in the eighth annual Catholic Schools Week (CSW) festivities.
The aim of the event is to raise public awareness of the wonderful opportunities offered in Catholic school education along with celebrating the history and achievements of Catholic schools and their students.
This year's theme is a reminder to the community that every student in Australia deserves a good education and ties into the Catholic education philosophy of the importance of individualised learning.
Suggested events and activities that Catholic Schools can get involved in include:
● Holding a community breakfast, lunch or morning tea.
● Inviting someone from the local community to be the school's CSW Ambassador.
● Opening up the classrooms to the public.
Students will also have the chance to create a 20 second video outlining why they think every child counts for the "Every Child Counts" competition.
Prizes on offer is an Apple 64GB iPAD for each category. The Group Division will receive a voucher valued at $1000. Other finalists will also receive iTunes gift cards and certificates.
