This week Lindsay MP David Bradbury joined representatives from UWS and the Nepean Hockey Association to officially open the hockey fields at UWS, which have had a $1 million upgrade.
The funding was used to upgrade the sand-based field and build a new water-based field.
“These facilities are helping to rebuild our local competition, which had experienced a significant decline in members due to the poor quality of their facilities,” Mr Bradbury said.
“With the new hockey season beginning this month, members will be returning to the facilities they deserve.
“The community will benefit greatly from these new fields which can be used by a range of sports.”
