So young but oh so big

TWENTY youngsters from the Jamisontown Giants Football Club took part in a half-time exhibition game this month in front of more than 15,000 excited fans.

The event took place at Parramatta Stadium during the A-League football match between the Western Sydney Wanderers and the Wellington Phoenix.

This was a momentous occasion for the under-6 and under-8 Giants team players, as they had a rare taste of the feeling of excitement in front of such a large and vocal crowd.

"Wow, there are so many people watching us play, and they cheered when we scored," one youngster was heard to say.

"It was great."

The credit for organising the event goes to the staff members of the Nepean District Soccer Football Association.

Jamisontown Giants new president Paul Whittaker said: "Our club is focused on encouraging and promoting football to our young boys and girls. I am happy that we had this chance.

"All the children and their parents had a wonderful time and I'd like to thank the staff at the Nepean Association for making it possible for us all."
