A man had a fortunate escape from serious injury after his car crashed into a house at Orchard Hills, on Tuesday.
A CareFlight trauma team flew to the scene to support ambulance paramedics, police and fire-rescue officers to help the man shortly after 7 pm..
The car crashed into a high steel sheet fence then a steel-clad shed at the side of the house.
The CareFlight trauma doctor said rescue officers had to cut their way through jagged steel sheeting to free the 53-year-old Silverdale man.
The man escaped the ordeal without serious injury.
He was taken under the care of a CareFlight doctor, in a road ambulance, to nearby Nepean Hospital for further assessment where he was in a stable condition on arrival.
